Translator of the Week: Eugene Browne
Posted by: anne-veritas
This week’s Translator of the Week is Eugene Browne! Congratulations!
We have only just started working with this translator, but he has impressed us so much already that we knew that this week’s translator of the week couldn’t possibly be anyone else. Eugene helped us out on a large DE>EN translation job after another translator let us down. The deadline was very tight, but he still managed to produce the high-quality work that we’re always looking for. Sometimes you can find the best translators during a crisis, and so every cloud has a silver lining! We hope to create a long-lasting relationship with him, and want to shout from the rooftops about how talented he is.
Here’s a little from the man himself:
“I was born and live in Durham, City of Prince Bishops and famous for its world renowned cathedral and castle. My university education was spent in the cities of Newcastle, Heidelberg and Lyon where I studied French, German and Spanish graduating with a BA honours degree. Since leaving university I have worked as a professional translator and interpreter being a member of the IOL and an Associate of the ITI. I am highly experienced in many areas specialising in legal, medical, business, technical, marketing, tourism and sports translations as well as covering a diverse range of other subjects. I also carry out proof-reading and interpreting (telephone interpreting included).
I am lucky enough to have obtained a large portfolio of distinguished clients, one being an aviation contract and I also have many domestic clients whose subject matters range from birth and marriage certificates to complex legal, medical and business documents. My interpreting work ranges enormously from the law courts, hospitals, business meetings and purchase of property abroad and therefore this requires me to work from both home and abroad.
I am very well travelled and like to visit and enjoy as many different cultures as possible. When I am not working at my computer or interpreting I enjoy eating out with friends and am greatly into sports and various types of music. My motto is to always try my hardest for my clients even if it involves late evenings and weekends as a satisfying completion is a great achievement.”
Thank you for your hard work and ability to work well under pressure!
