Sharon has been a driven, diligent and successful individual from the very beginning, as demonstrated at the age of 17 when she became the Welsh Ladies Senior singles and doubles tennis champion and National En-Tout-Cas doubles champion. Her exceptional competitive nature, combined with her sense of adventure and confidence took Sharon overseas where she met her other passion, which was for language.

After six years living and working in Spain and the US, Sharon returned to the UK with a command of the Spanish language and culture equal to that of a Spanish native. Sharon considers her experiences in Spain as providing her with training for her future, as she not only put areas on the map for Cosmos Holidays due to her sales ability, she also ran the largest European destination for First Choice, and was commonly known as ‘the help desk’.

These organizational skills and capacity to overcome any challenge, together with her language skills, allowed Sharon to take the decision at the age of 35 to obtain qualifications, in preparation for setting up a company which would reflect what she enjoys and excels at.

Sharon completed a four year degree in three years; not to mention two children and a husband later, Sharon emerged from her degree with a BA (1st Hons) in Translation, and she also acquired a third language, Italian.

During her degree, Sharon met Rachel Bryan and their shared love of language, forward thinking, dedication and hard working ability became clear immediately. Very soon the vision of Veritas was formed. They both had the same perception of the translation industry, and viewed a worldwide gap in the market for a quality driven and affordable service, directed by two trained translators. This service would encapsulate all the needs of a customer who wishes to communicate in another language.

The day after Sharon’s final exam, Veritas Language Solutions was launched. Each day brought new and exciting challenges, and the company was nationally recognised when Sharon and Rachel won the HSBC Start Up Stars International Business Award in their second year.

There is no hurdle that Sharon could not overcome. She always finds a way to stand out from the rest and demonstrate her loyalty to her staff and customers. She is constantly looking for ways to improve the company, and is driven by necessity to be the best.
