Language Translation: Sharing Knowledge Across Borders

Today I’d like to write about something we don’t often stop to think about – what language translation has done for us as a society. We often think of the advantages of business translation services, but rarely pause to think of the bigger picture.
So, what have translation services ever done for us?
Well, more than you might think! If it weren’t for language translation, we would barely know what was going on in the world around us. Can you imagine international news being possible without it? How about the fact that around a third of all the money spent globally on research and development comes from Asia? Without translation services, we’d miss out – big time!
The literary benefits are also clear – just think how many anglophones love The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo! None of them would have been able to read it without translation. The great classic works of literature would also be inaccessible to anyone who didn’t speak the language they were written in. I can honestly say that my life would be immeasurably poorer without the literary translations available today.
These are just a couple of the myriad ways that language translation benefits us. Can you think of any other ways that translation has enriched our lives?
If you would like to know more about our language translation services, please get in touch!
