VERITAS UNIVERSITY CHALLENGE
A UK translation company is on the hunt for the country’s most outstanding young linguists.
Veritas Language Solutions are giving students a well-needed boost this summer by offering them the chance to win a coveted internship with the company as well as a host of exciting prizes.
University students will be put to the test in a UK-wide translation competition being launched by the company. In cooperation with the UK’s top universities, Veritas will pick out the most talented students in French, Spanish, Italian, German, Welsh, Russian and Polish.
With a wealth of generous prizes up for grabs, students from across the country have been flocking to sign up for the competition. However, it’s not just the material prizes that are catching the attention of students. The overall winner will be offered an internship with Veritas and each individual category winner will take part in a one-to-one mentoring session with the company’s directors
“Entering this competition will be a great first step for any student hoping to work as a translator or set up their own business,” explains Veritas’ Commercial Director, Sharon Stephens. “Winners will have access to the wealth of knowledge and business acumen that has helped Veritas succeed in the translation industry. Not only that, they’ll get great press coverage and it’ll give them huge brownie points on their CV.”
At a time when graduate unemployment is at a record high, students need all the brownie points they can get. This competition will offer one talented student the chance to really stand out from the rest, combining the prestige of winning a UK-wide competition with experience of working for a successful multinational company. The individual mentoring sessions will also give winners inside knowledge and motivation and will be tailored to their own ambitions – whether language-related or entrepreneurial.
Graduates need a kick-start onto their career paths and we’re hoping this competition will help open doors for them” explains Sharon.
