A few posts ago, we looked at how a CV is an essential part of any interview around the world. The way a CV should be written, what must or must not appear in it, are all factors that depend on the country you are applying in. However, this also applies to interviews. There are several dos and don’ts that are important to remember. Here are just a few, but since there are definitely more, so please share them with us!
Let’s start… during an interview in Italy, wages are always referred to after tax, whereas in Germany it is the other way round. Also, German companies expect you to tell them what you think you should earn. This is a way of assessing how much you think you are worth.
In Britain it is paramount to ask questions about your duties, even if they are clearly specified and you feel that you have understood everything. If you do not do so, the interviewer will think that you are not interested in the position.
In Russia, people are very proud of their amazing composers, writers and their heritage in general. As a consequence, they expect foreigners to know a lot about Russian artists as well as their own.
